![]() Leaders are Winners! How to Achieve the Winner's Circle... and moreby Loreen Sherman, MBA The craft of leadership extends the test of time with leaders leaving behind diverse legacies. Leadership has been a source of inspiration and a source of acute criticism because many view leadership and its roles in the executives differently. That is the reason why there are partisan groups, segments in forums and clashes amongst people. In general, different perspectives yield different forms of leadership. To name a few: authentic, autocratic, economic, inspirational, political, social, transformational, etc. As diverse as each segment is leadership boils down into distinctive qualities that are worth thought and investigation. Qualities of Dynamic Leadership How to Recognize the Qualities of Dynamic Leadership? First the term 'dynamic leadership' must be defined. The word dynamic means to have a high charge of energy, to be energetic and create a force of influence. The dynamic leader is one who has a strong influence on others for good or evil. For the purpose of this brief, the focus will align with dynamic leadership based on good for others. Most leaders desire to leave an impact. Often a gap is seen, or a problem to resolve is desired by the leader. The shortcoming motivates the leader to 'fix' the problem. Dynamic leadership is led by the determination that their solution is the right fix. Dynamic leadership is led by the determination to make the world, their organization or their community a better place. The desire for change is often seen in dynamic leadership such as in the case of social or political reforms. Is Dynamic Leadership On Staff? Not all apples are Macs! This expression understates the idea that there is not a single equation for leadership. This is true but there are leadership markers that can signify if the person is more of a leader or not. Some of the leadership markers indicate certain key characteristics of leadership. These keys are: (1) Strong ethical deliberations (2) Strong work habits (3) Strong organization skills (4) Strong communication (5) Strong decision making Leaders must be effective. Dynamic leaders are. When a leader can make a deliberation and remain ethical it yields respect and support from others. When a leader displays strong work habits it yields admiration and praise from others. When a leader is well-organized and timely it yields esteem from others. When a leader strongly and passionately communicates his idea, action plan or project it yields support from others. When a leader makes strong decisions it yields approval from others; so dynamic leaders get admiration, approval, esteem, respect and support.Learn new leadership skills to strengthen your executive leadership.
